To introduce a new family of folding knives from Chris Reeve Knives, the “Inkosi 1st 30” is a limited, highly collectible edition of 30 production prototypes. The 30 piece edition honors 30 years of Chris Reeve Knives, a milestone in 2014 when this knife was designed.
Because Inkosi means Chief in Zulu, the 1st 30 Inkosi features a graphic that echoes the shield traditionally carried by the Zulu Chief, and a midnight blue lanyard tie with an “Inkosi 1st 30” bead. Both handle slabs are engraved “1st 30 – 2015” on the inside. None of these features will be present on the production version of the Inkosi.
The Inkosi folder is a new design by Chris Reeve that builds on the inherent strengths of the Integral Lock. This knife is a smaller, more compact everyday folding knife with Chris Reeve Knives award-winning manufacturing excellence. Inkosi is the Zulu word for Chief and this knife certainly commands respect.
Chris Reeve Knives is continually improving their knives and the Inkosi features a number of refinements:
- The blade is 8% thicker than the Small Sebenza 21 and utilizes CRK’s Large Hollow Grind technology.
- Double thumb lugs are standard.
- Oversized phosphor bronze washer with extra-large grease pockets
- Larger, sturdier stop pin.
- Added stability to the locking mechanism and ceramic ball lock bar interface.
- Pocket clip rests on the spine rather than contacting the lock bar to avoid undue pressure on the lock.
